Amy Oliver is also originally from Princeton and graduated from the University of Louisville in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in political science, cum laude. She received her law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2012. Ms. Oliver has more than five years' experience defending individuals charged with crimes. As a lawyer with the renowned Louisville Metro Public Defender's office, Ms. Oliver handled criminal defense cases throughout Jefferson County district, circuit and family courts. She has trial experience in all courts in Jefferson County, and she has handled cases ranging from misdemeanor possession to contempt of court for child support to robbery and murder. During part of her time as a defender, she also represented children in the juvenile court system, including those charged as adults in circuit court. She has attended multiple trainings and the National Defender Training Project: Trial Advocacy Program.

When she is not working, she enjoys going to as many Louisville Cardinals games as possible, cooking with her fiancé and playing with their Brittany spaniel, Maggie.
